I definitely feel being infantilized by this OS and the up-to-date applications.
The whole thing feels as if I got an early beta of iPhoto from the 1990's.Įven in the Finder I had a hard time to bring back my favourite folders to the sidebar. When importing photos from my camera, it won't delete the originals from my camera's memory no matter if I checked the corresponding option or not. I can't use a dark grey background for any general view. (sobbing, then suddenly shouting out:) What was this good for? I can't use an external editor the way I did with iPhoto. There is this nasty somehow thread based display of messages that made my wife believe she had sent me some information which she hadn't until I switched this setting back to a, well, sane view. Fortunately I could restore the old appearence most widely. I didn't think one could spoil an eMail application, but Apple succeeded in doing so. You can simply write short or long messages and send virtually anything as an attachment and reply to one or more recipients and alway keep track of what goes where. Why would I want a text to scroll down when I move my fingers up on the trackpad, which is what Apple calls "natural"? Because it is the nature of iPhones or in fact all smart phones? Ok, this can be fixed in the prefs pane, but I wonder why Apple prompts me to using my trackpad differently from what I was used to (I had to adjust some trackpad gestures, too).ĮMails are outdated, I know, but I love them. And there is some appealing new stuff like Logic X. I just updated my OS because modern applications could not be installed or would not run with OSX 10.6.8, and using an old internet browser you can catch some serious security issues. Some day my beloved 17" MBP might go kaput (just found this expression in for German "kaputtgehen"), and I don't feel too comfortable with what Apple does.
